You have determined the model of your 1894 Marlin Rifle. Now you will need to determine if you have a standard or deluxe version, or what type of carbine. Both Standard and Deluxe versions were produced in all models, with many possible options available to buyers. For example, you could order barrel lengths of 20", 24", 26" 28", 30" or 32" for the 1894 Marlin .
Step 2: Determine the Variation of model types
Select one of the following choices
 | The stock is straight with no checkering -- You have the Standard version. | ||||||
| The stock and forearm is checkered. It may be straight, but is usually a pistol grip -- You have the Deluxe version. | ||||||
| The gun has a saddle ring. You have the Carbine. | ||||||
| The barrel length on your carbine is 18" with a 1/2 magazine. You have the Baby Carbine. | ||||||
| You have "Model 94" stamped on your tang. You have the later (post-1900) version. | ||||||
| Your gun dissembles by unscrewing the magazine.--You have the Take-down Model. | ||||||
| Your gun is a .44-40 caliber -- You can add 10% to total value. | ||||||
| If there are other extra features not
mentioned, and they look original. -- You may have
a factory "extra- option". You may need to consult a professional
appraiser to determine the value of your gun.
