You have determined the model of your Winchester. Now you will need to determine which variation you have. Both Standard and Grooved versions exist.
Step 2: Determine the Variation of model type
Select one of the following choices
| The barrel is 23"long, the receiver top is smooth, the stock is straight, forearm smooth and number on tang is higher than 9,800 -- You have a 'Standard Model 63' version. |
| The barrel is 23"long, the receiver top is grooved, the stock is straight, forearm smooth and number on tang is higher than 9,800 -- You have a 'Standard Grooved Model 63' version. |

Once you have determined the
model and variation,
Study the
Outline of Features
for
possible modifications to the original rifle.

Be sure that the Variation of your gun is recorded in the column to the right |
